- Dehydration is synonymous with summer. Drink at least 2.5 litres of water everyday if not more.
- Do not drink any juice from outside. Make fresh juice at home or better, eat whole fruits.
- Eat at least 5-6 small meals at regular intervals. Don’t let your body starve or over eat. Any kind of excess will give the body wrong signals. Try to keep your body happy.
- Icy alchohol treats may look like a cool refreshment, but they are absolutely not. They not only pack high calories, they will also make your body and memory sluggish in summer. Instead, drink iced tea!
- Summer is ideal for contamination and infection due to bacteria and virus growth causing typhoid, jaundice and diarrhea. Avoid fruits and vegetables that have been cut and kept in the open for long, or cooked some time back. Eat fresh.
- Wash your hands properly before eating. Keep your utensils clean, your food covered, and store food in refrigerator and cupboards that are cleaned regularly.
- Avoid rich food as much as you can. Eat soups and salads instead. Consume yoghurt because it is one of the best food that aids in digestion.
- Severe sweating in summer causes electrolyte imbalance because sodium is flushed out of the system. Seasonal fruits like the following are the best solution to keep all the nutrients in check:
- Watermelon has leukopin which acts as an antioxidant. It will keep you fresh and stress free. It maintains the water and fluid content of the body. Make a drink with watermelon, lime and salt for a refreshing break.
